Counseling Services

Therapy is delivered in the context of a relationship. You are accepted for who you are. Your sessions are a place where you are safe. It is a place to play with your power and express what you need. We will take steps at your pace, expressing what arises in each moment.

counseling approaches

  • IFS identifies and explores our inner parts, including our core Self. Our core self contains the wisdom of how to heal, how to integrate all of our parts, and how to be whole. In IFS work, all parts of us are welcome.

  • Throughout our lives, we experience moments that alert our body to stress. This stress can accumulate, sometimes locking us in a flight, fight, or freeze state. SE helps release this trauma that is stored in the body. When SE is used in therapy, clients are gently guided to process bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. SE can help people understand how stress and body responses are connected, leading to the processing of traumatic experiences.

  • Our past and worries about the future keep can keep us out of the present moment. This impacts our ability to be with others in life. Mindfulness brings our attention to the present without judgement. It helps us see more clearly the ways we might be stuck in unhelpful patterns.

  • Based on teachings of meditation, iRest is an evidence-based transformative practice that leads to psychological, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being. Its practice is integrative as it heals the various unresolved issues and traumas that are present in your body and mind. It is restorative as it enables you to recognize your innate peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life. iRest provides you with tools to help you relax deeply, release stress, increase resiliency, improve your interpersonal relationships and provide you with greater mastery and control in your life.

  • Using both mindfulness and acceptance strategies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) aims to increase psychological flexibility. The goal is to notice what is happening in the moment, to feel what emotions arise, and to respond in a way that furthers your own values. ACT acknowledges the role that language, inner fears, and societal perceptions play into our understanding of past, present, and future events. When we come to process these events, accept the present moment, and commit to living differently, we move toward healing.
